It has been developed by Purestream Technology innovators, in collaboration with the Utah State University's Research Foundation (USURF), a recognized leader in world thermal-management technology, and with Energy Dynamics Lab (EDL). All along, Purestream was convinced that a well-head solution was the only viable, effective option for the future. They searched all existing technologies in the world for a sustainable, economical, and viable solution. It was not yet created. With the assistance of Specialized Analysis Engineering (SAE) and USURF, Purestream examined all existing technologies for what worked and what didn't, then spent years developing the Trilogy System. Trilogy's first version was deployed in 2007 and its fourth version is currently in worldwide deployment.

The Trilogy System has a combination of innovations. It's a wastewater disposal process that's patented, and that removes contaminates to a purer-than-natural drinking-water level and renders water useful for irrigation or other purposes, or safe to release back into the ecosystem. It's an air-emissions system that is state-of-the-art and that removes 99 % of the air pollutants, thus providing Hepa-quality air filtration. It's also a revolutionary combined heat and power system (CHP) that reclaims the waste heat, reusing it in the water disposal and air emissions systems, converting it into clean, recycled power to be loaded onto a local power grid for commercial consumers.

As well, Trilogy is a comprehensive, cutting-edge remote data-tracking system that monitors and verifies produced wastewater, condensate, and oil levels from the point of origin through to the point of disposal or sale. This remote data-tracking system uses Vital Vu technology and renders obsolete all other data processes (which are primarily manual) because they are inefficient, impossible to verify, prone to human error, and subject to fraud.
