I have been asked if Father's require good leadership skills. My simple answer is that they do not! On the other being a good Dad does! Big difference! Any male that has the ability to produce sperm can Father a child, and believe me some should be sterilized. But being a good Dad takes enormous commitment and sacrifice! These two leadership attributes build a solid foundation for a loving home!

Men today need to take on their responsibilities after they father a child. They need to become a Dad to their child. There was a time years ago that a Dad was respected in the home, andfor good reason. They weren't looked upon as just a financial source for the home. They possessed the foundation of good leadership skills by sacrificing everything for their families. They led by example using sound work ethics, and their word was like their bond. They spent time teaching their children about every aspect of life.

What is it going to take for us to return to a time when a Dad was a Dad? When a Dad was someone invincible to their children? When a Dad was more than a source of income, He was the leader of the home! He didn't rule with an iron fist, but was the example of what good leadership skills are! The sacrifices that He made were immeasurable in every possible way! Let's get back to those days!

We need Dad's that are willing to commit to their child's mother no matter how difficult the times get. To commit their love, their support, their income, their time, and anything else it takes to make a successful home for the family. One very important thing that demonstrates good leadership skills more than anything else is an understanding that it isn't about you! It's about them!

We need Dad's that even when the family unit separates they don't go away! They stand up like men do and accept their responsibilities. Real Dad's still make sure their child has everything they need no matter how the child's mother puts them down. Real Dad's, mail the child support check, even if it means they don't get to enjoy anything! Good leadership skills shine through even more in the difficult times than the easy ones. Again, a Dad like a leader will sacrifice everything for the welfare of those they are responsible for.

When you have the responsibility for anyone, from your own child to an employee, you must consider their needs first and yours second! Remember you see the end while they are only seeing the road just ahead and that means they may not like your guidance, but will appreciate it in the end. Decisions like friends or hobbies can make all the difference in the world if a child chooses incorrectly. So when you see the final outcome and they only see the immediate fun, make them choose differently! The short term hassle is worth the long term success!
