Good Samaritan Guidelines - Millions of people around the world live by the code of the Bible, which teaches us the simplest way to think, act, and believe in a way that is in line with God's plan. However , we could have certain questions that are of a modern nature that are not covered in ancient holy writings. Now some writers are doing their best to provide revelations that will help Christians to navigate the treacherous waters of modern society, mixing our ideals with practical modern application for doing good in a modern , technological world.

It isn't enough to believe. We have to learn how to put our principles to the test and act accordingly . Nowadays, in the present economy, it seems as if it's easy to slip into self-centered thinking. When things get troublesome we have a tendency to concentrate on ourselves and our families. This is natural, but it is important that we continue to attempt to make a change in the lives of others. You don't have to spend a lot of time or money to contribute. In fact, only one or two seconds can make a change. Perhaps we should all create plans to do something to modify the world each day, or at least once per week. There are some great books available that may provide suggestions, and you can come up with your own ideas about the way to help others with only one or two greenbacks or one or two minutes. The key is to concentrate on what you CAN do, not on what you CAN'T do. Can you drop by to check on an old neighbor? Are you able to take a few minutes to clear a neighbor's path of snow? How about taking a few serviettes from home so you can pick up two pieces of garbage to ditch on the way to work or college ( the napkins are so that you do not get involved ) ? Can you manage a second and a few extra calories of energy to smile at someone, hold the door for somebody, or give somebody a compliment? How about a tip and a'Thank you' for a service person? We would possibly not be in a position to donate millions, but in these times it is more significant than ever to put the emphasis back on giving. It isn't difficult to think about others when you feel like you have it all. The real mark of personality is how we concentrate on helping people when times are hard.

Jesus Had a Budget of $0 - Remember that even though'money makes the world go around' ( and I do not believe that it is doing ), that does not mean that money is necessary to change the globe. Jesus was not a millionaire, and he did just fine in his attempts to change the globe. Cash is just one of many tools that can help you to boost the lives of others. Do not deprecate the power of a smile, a compliment, a joke, a cuddle, and definitely do not underestimate the power of a prayer. In these times of poverty, disaster, and despondency, take the focus off what you can't control and put the power back onto what you can control - your own mind and behaviors. Don't belittle the power that you've been given to make a change, no matter how much or how very little turns out to be in your checking account. Spreading Goodwill - It is important to remember to spread goodwill at every opportunity, and this may be done without making you or your folks vulnerable to crime or monetary stress. As well as books on correct spiritual thinking, books like Pay it Forward, Chicken Soup for the Soul, and Doing Good Works to bring our thinking back around to gratitude, service, and goodwill toward others.

It's not enough to believe. We have to learn how to put our beliefs to the test and act in an appropriate way. These days, in the present economy, it appears as if it isn't difficult to slip into selfish thinking. When things get tricky we have a tendency to concentrate on ourselves and our families. Change the World - if you doubt your own capability to change the world, just look at the many Biblical and modern examples of folks that came from zip to be world leaders and world changers. Many of them may not have shared our specific beliefs, nonetheless it they can do it we can do it. Mum Theresa, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, Gandhi, and numerous members of the clergy, the arts, even business ( like Bill Strickland ) should provoke us that we will be able to change and improve the world in our own ways , irrespective of how big or how tiny we think we are. It isn't for us to decide how our efforts and good ambitions will be put to use.
