A spa getaway is great for someone who is stressed from life events or just looking for a break from daily life. Many people plan vacations around trips to the spa. They may plan their vacation to a resort that offers spa services. In some instances, the whole purpose of the resort is to indulge people in a spa environment. These destinations include fitness classes, body treatments, delicious, healthy moods, and recreation that encourage relaxation and wellness. Just a couple of days is usually all people need to make them feel like a whole new person. However, these spa vacations can be very expensive. You may be able to afford a few night's stay at one of the resorts, but if the activities and services cost more, you may find yourself shelling out big bucks. What if you need a break from things and you want to indulge your body and spirit but it is not in the budget? Try bringing that spa environment right in your own home. You can turn your own bathroom into a place that is serene and comfortable, creating an environment much like a high end resort. Your walk in shower can be an herbal steam room and your walk tub will give you a place to sit and relax while you enjoy the benefits of steam and herbs.

In addition to creating your own personal steam room, equip your bathroom with other comfortable items. Be sure to have a bath pillow for when you are soaking in the water and use oils or bubbles when soaking. In many ways, soaking in a hot bathtub while inhaling scented oils can be as relaxing as a full body massage. When you finish the bath, have a warm, soft robe available. Indulge yourself with scented lotion. This is also a great time to lay back with a cooling compress on your eyes and think pleasant thoughts.

If you want to turn your spa retreat into a few day getaway right in your own home, plan some relaxing activities for your time. Go for a sunrise walk in the park, or enjoy a quiet sunset stroll at the end of the day. You can also plan meals that are extra healthy and feature lots of raw, natural foods.

Be sure to drink plenty of water, especially if you are enjoying a steam room and moving your body. Try not to do anything too stressful. If you usually work out hard, try going slower and being kind to your body. Your body will not deteriorate if you skip your usual hour of hard cardio.

It is important to relax and focus on your spirit and how your body feels. You can take time to read and write, but try to stay away from television and news programs. While you may think it can be tough to create a spa like environment in your home, it can be done, and will leave you feeling refreshed and renewed.
