How to Make Your Bathroom a Relaxing Environment
In addition to creating your own personal steam room, equip your bathroom with other comfortable items. Be sure to have a bath pillow for when you are soaking in the water and use oils or bubbles when soaking. In many ways, soaking in a hot bathtub while inhaling scented oils can be as relaxing as a full body massage. When you finish the bath, have a warm, soft robe available. Indulge yourself with scented lotion. This is also a great time to lay back with a cooling compress on your eyes and think pleasant thoughts.
If you want to turn your spa retreat into a few day getaway right in your own home, plan some relaxing activities for your time. Go for a sunrise walk in the park, or enjoy a quiet sunset stroll at the end of the day. You can also plan meals that are extra healthy and feature lots of raw, natural foods.
Be sure to drink plenty of water, especially if you are enjoying a steam room and moving your body. Try not to do anything too stressful. If you usually work out hard, try going slower and being kind to your body. Your body will not deteriorate if you skip your usual hour of hard cardio.
It is important to relax and focus on your spirit and how your body feels. You can take time to read and write, but try to stay away from television and news programs. While you may think it can be tough to create a spa like environment in your home, it can be done, and will leave you feeling refreshed and renewed.
