For centuries groups have come together and discussed issues. They have talked about finding solutions to problems that plague them ranging from food and shelter needs to human rights. It does not matter where your concerns lie, there are people who feel the same and gathering them together is a great way to promote change. However, it can be tough to plan an event that interests people enough to get them away from their regular lives and urges them to participate. If you are planning to make a difference with a group, there are numerous ways for sharing information. Options include showing videos, giving speeches or using literature displays to get your message out. Literature holders enable people to take information with them after the event and share it with those they know who were not in attendance.

Once you have the basics organized and you know how you will inform people the day of your event, you need to create entertainment and interest. Even with a somber cause it is still necessary to keep the attention of anyone attending. No matter how serious the issue, you must still hold the attention of those attending. Sometimes you can educate and entertain at the same time.

Schedule speakers who are entertaining and informative and make sure they are scattered throughout the entire event so there will be several hours worth of material. You may also want to hold a drawing or contest that will offer attendees the chance to win a prize or feel special in some way.

After the event is ready to go, take time to promote it. Be sure to target groups with an interest. For instance, if your cause has a religious component, speak to area churches about attending. Causes that are political in nature typically affect everyone in a given community, so distribute flyers in local shops and post information around town. The important thing is to make sure plenty of people are aware of the issue and the event. Some may not even realize they feel one way or another until they hear all sides of the issue. Once people are talking about the issue you will soon learn there are plenty of people who agree with you. Your goal is to get the voices of people heard, and the more who attend your event, the louder the crowd will be and the more people you can inform.

Most changes start with just a small group of people who are not happy with how things are. Once they organize change can begin. If you want to make a difference and there is an issue which you feel passionately about, a well organized, informative, entertaining event is a great way to spread the word and begin to make a difference.
