The Church often purchases items that help it run smoothly. Church goods are needed for the congregation to move forward with God. As well as specialised items the building often needs basic essentials like paint and wallpaper.

Main services usually take place on a Sunday in one main room. This room will often display pictures of Jesus that they have to purchase. If the building has only just been bought or rented it might need completely renovating so equipment is needed to help with this. Even basic things like ladders, paint brushes, paint, tables and chairs will need buying.

Items like candles might be needed for Christmas services. If there is a drama group then costumes might be needed as well as make up. Christian books and other resources are needed. A piano or organ might need to be bought for the worship group.

There is usually a time where people enjoy coffee and tea at the end of the service. Tea bags, coffee, milk, cups and saucers, teaspoons and other condiments need to be bought. Often people are in charge of one or two ministries within the meeting place and they let the Pastor know when they need new stock.

During special occasions such as holidays the meeting will need other items. During Easter they might require posters or flyer's inviting people to a special Easter service. Some places celebrate Halloween with a special party for the children so they do not have to take part in such an event. Halloween itself is not celebrated, but there will often be a praise party for the children. Food and sweets will be ordered so that the children can enjoy themselves.

Sometimes there are special children's events including clowns, crafts and other activities. In which case they would require balloons, costumes, pens, paper and other craft materials. There is normally a Sunday school or creche so materials need buying in advance for these types of activities. Vigil-lamps, candles and candle stands for religious activities need purchasing. A Church will usually need to buy religious books and gifts for individuals who get baptised or married for example. Depending on the type of Church and their beliefs there could be clergy clothing, first communion, Christmas and Baptism goods to buy.

There are other groups that meet within the Church including drama, dancing, singing and other groups. Toddler groups might be held at the building and require toys, nappies and other baby items. Evangelism might be one part of the Church that needs equipping with tracts, posters, leaflets and other resources.
