The Bible is perhaps the most important set of documents or writings to a Christian. It contains the words and teachings of God through the prophets and through Jesus Christ. It is an instrument to teach the people the means to become a true Christian and to be truly closer to the Lord. It also narrates the life of Jesus Christ and His teachings.

It is a fact of general acceptance that the best way to teach a person is to start when he is still at his youth. Ideas can be better entrenched in us if they have been taught to us and are being practiced starting from an early age. What we are at present is a creation of what we learned and experience in the early stages of our lives.

When it comes to teaching religion, the same principle also applies. In the expectancy of becoming model Christians in the future, children are being taught Christian values at the earliest opportunity possible. This is the rationale behind the development of the kids' bible curriculum program.

This program is a way to gradually introduce the wisdom that is found in the bible to children. The scriptures are being taught in a way that makes it easier and more fun for them to learn. The basic aspects of the Bible are selected and the more theological aspects are not being delved into so that it can be better understood by children.

The Bible is essentially divided into two parts: the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament which is written originally in Hebrew and Aramaic, is the original sacred writing of the Jewish people. Aside from being religious in character, it is also characterized by a strong sense of history. So much so that the old laws and exhortations were incorporated into it. On the other hand, the main focus of the New Testament is Jesus Christ. The principal theme is the character of Jesus as the savior, the son of God, and the son of man.

In the same way, the kids' bible curriculum program is also divided into two parts, the Old Testament curriculum and the New Testament curriculum. The Old Testament curriculum includes lessons starting from the story of creation, Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, and Abraham and Isaac. It also includes the story of Moses, the liberation of the Hebrews from Egypt and their journey to Canaan. Stories like that of Samson and Delilah, David and Goliath and the story of prophets such as Jacob, Joseph, Joshua, Daniel, Job, Samuel, and Jeremiah are also being taught under this curriculum.

The New Testament Curriculum particularly centers on the life of Jesus Christ-- his great story life, death and resurrection. The story starts from the birth of John the Baptist then Jesus' birth and childhood. The New Testament also tells different parables that Jesus Christ told to people. In addition, it includes the miracles that Jesus performed. In this curriculum, kids are also shown how to live the life of a true Christian.

Kids' Bible Curriculum program is a great way of strengthening the religious beliefs of children and ushering them into Christianity. It is a sign that church leaders recognize the role of young people as the future not only of the Christian community but also the world as a whole.
