Are alternative energy sources important for a healthy future? Will such sources capable to cater all our energy requirements? Whenever a discussion about global warming comes up, there will be a discussion about the everyday rising prices of fossil fuels and their availability for our future generations. An average citizen will find it difficult to choose between conventional energy sources or to try new ones. BMW introduced an electric car in 2008 which can also run on gasoline once the battery runs out. REVA, a car manufacturer only making electric cars introduced two new models for 2010 and both these models are capable of a distance of over 100 miles for a single charge. Recharging time is also less than 90 minutes. Such advancements will encourage more citizens to try cars using alternative energy sources to run.

Solar panels are also a wise invention. They charge the cells that store the energy so that it can be used later. You can use this energy for all your electricity consumption. The use of solar panels helps your household to have a more efficient energy source. There are also some options that warm up your winter and cools down your summers. The only costs that are associated with solar panels are just installation costs. Once installed, the sun will do the rest.

Several advantages of having alternative energy sources including saving on fuel prices, reducing the amount of poisonous emissions thereby contributing to the solution for global warming. Though these sources are expensive, their prices will reduce drastically once the market becomes big enough. In addition, they are a lot cheaper once installed.
