An office is always designed according to the nature of the business. Its decoration plays a vital role in keeping every member of staff focused on his/her work. An office should not have dull or boring interior design. Some businesses like marketing require refreshing surroundings, as marketing is all about creativeness and modernization. The first place one encounters when one steps into an office is the reception area. This place sets the tone of the visitors. Magazines, newspapers and other reading material are also placed in the reception room. All this is done to ensure that visitors do not get aggravated while they are waiting. A water fountain and a tea, coffee dispenser is also placed in the reception area of organizations where visitors are expected to wait for sometime.
The entire ambience of the reception room is done up so as to make visitors feel relaxed and important. A good reception area has significant importance for all organizations. The people visiting an organization may be public or important personalities and no organization wants a visitor to be turned off while he or she is waiting to meet the person they have come to see.
The impression formed by entering the reception of any organization is very important. It's the first impression that has a lot of importance for the organization. That's why organizations are keen to spend lavishly in getting their reception room designed and decorated by an interior designer who specializes in office design. If the space is too little where the number of visitors is high, like in a hospital, people will get irritated. If the space is too much and the traffic of visitors is less, that will be a waste of valuable office space. Therefore the right balance has to be struck.
Organizations want to make sure that visitors are welcomed in their office and want to provide them with a comfortable environment. Companies that have a lot of people visiting daily want their visitors to be in a congenial mood before they meet whom they have any business with. Children hospitals also have a special play area to keep children occupied while they wait. The design and functionality of a reception room requires a lot of thought and planning. The two most important factors in the design of the reception area is how much will it be used, average time people will be waiting in it and of course the business the organization conducts.
