What May Cause Panic Attacks
Each person has their own uniqueness, and so are the causes of panic attacks. Science has indeed identified some of the causes and broken them down into several categories, yet, they still can't determine the exact mechanisms which our body is going through during the episode. To further clear things up, here's a few categories that may cause panic attacks:
Genetics: It has been found that a percentage of the individuals afflicted by panic disorder share the condition with one of their immediate family members or even distant relatives. Meaning, that if either one of your parents, siblings, or relatives have this condition, you are at a higher risk for acquiring it as well. But it is not an assurance that you will have the condition and that you will be behaving the same way as your family members or relatives did.
Early experiences: experiencing traumatic events during childhood can also set off panic disorders as one grows old. Having to witness or experience those traumatic experiences in the present can set off a chain reaction of anxiety and fear resulting to panic.
Stress: It has also been found by research that dealing with a lot of stressful situations at a single time or dealing with a single problem for a prolonged period of time can also set off or cause panic attacks.
Big Changes: Changes such as divorce, loosing or changing jobs, and loosing a loved one can also be one of the main causes of having panic attacks, especially when they all happened in an unexpected way. These events may cause emotional and psychological imbalance which in turn triggers panic attacks.
Those are just some of the possible causes of panic attacks. There are still a lot of causes that can be mentioned, but putting them all in here may just be a waste of time.
