Can Your Sex Affect Your Breathing Meditation?
For men this exercise should come quite easy. They likely managed even to clear out the sunshine from their minds. Women on the other hand are probably at this point still discussing with themselves the correct shade of sun. Saffron or amber? Which of those would look better on the kitchen walls they want to repaint. Forget the paint! Forget trying to meditate at all! Here is why:
There are many differences between women's and men's brain. For the use of this article we can call it boxes vs. Wires theory. Scientists discovered that men's brains are made of unconnected boxes, while women's brains are from wires linked in every possible way. This is of course very simplified description.
Looking at a man's brain, you'll find a girlfriend box, sex box, kids box, car box and among many other - a nothing box. It is a kind of an empty space. When his thoughts go there, they simply disappear. He finds himself in something we can compare to a black hole of nothingness, with no black and no hole though.
For women it's impossible to believe, when their male partners are announcing to them, that they are thinking about nothing. Well, as unbelievable as it sounds, it's true! Men don't need to push themselves to meditate, they do it on daily bases. How else would you call sitting with no thoughts and just breathing?
Women on the other hand have no chance of emptying their minds. Their brains are designed to think constantly. If they stop thinking, they will explode! Everything that happens in woman's life has to be processed in her brain. So having so many thoughts per second, woman has to release it. How? The easiest way is talking. So if you are a woman and your meditation is not going the way you expected, stop it right now, call a friend and relax.
Exercising your breathing is important though for your health. Poor breathing negatively affects your energy and mental alertness, not mentioning lungs. But there are other ways than breathing meditation to improve it. Go for a bicycle ride or hiking. This way you will also lose some pounds, plus you can think as much as want.
