Why The Beatles Stereo Box Set Is A "Must Buy"
To really understand The Beatles incredible music you must hear their LPs as a whole rather than just hearing a song here and a song there. I am definitely not alone in thinking that the Fab Four recorded quite a few of the most influential albums ever and even their not so great albums (like With The Beatles) have a few really good songs.
That's why I believe it's such a great idea to Buy The Beatles Remastered Stereo Box Set. The set contains every LP (and every non-album track with the inclusion of the Past Masters CDs) that The Beatles released in the 60s.
It contains pretty much everything except for Live at the BBC CDs and the three Anthology sets. This makes sense since those 90s releases are not a part of the band's "official catalog". They are kind of like the "special features" on a DVD while the original releases are the feature film.
There are a few more of their officially released recordings that aren't included, for example there's 1999 release of a CD titled Yellow Submarine Songtrack that is entirely different from the original Yellow Submarine album. It's actually far better in my opinion and definitely worth hearing for it's alternate mixes (it's actually remixed, not just remastered.) Love and Let It Be... Naked are not included either.
With The Beatles Stereo Box Set, I also definitely recommend that you Buy The Beatles Remastered Mono Box Set which features the the mono versions of their albums up through The White Album. It may be hard to really understand in the context of today, but when the "Fab Four" were mixing their recordings they thought the mono version to be of much more importance in comparison with the stereo versions up until about 1968.
