Stress is the reaction of the body and the mind towards assorted changes in the physical environment of a person. Though a homo sapien being undergoes changes throughout his life, adolescence is one period that witnesses almost all of the changes. During puberty, an individual goes through many sorts of changes including physical, emotional, social and academic. Teenage is the period that is accompanied by maximum stress levels.

There are several causes of teenage stress that include college demands, bodily changes, high expectations of self, being bullied, peer pressure and career choices. Other less common causes include learning disabilities, family money issues, divorced parents, trouble making buddies and end of relationships.

Teenagers must handle stress effectively otherwise it might result in to serious health problems. A few common health dangers are despair, nervousness, insomnia, poor eating habits and lack of concentration. In the event of any of these conditions, immediate professional assistance is necessary. If not checked for in time, these problems could lead to aggression or social withdrawal. It's been seen, if teenage stress is not handled appropriately, it might also result in loss of confidence and suicide, in worst cases!

Exercise and eat balanced meals and avoid excessive caffeine. Also do not indulge in alcoholism or drugs.

Many youths are not ready to express their feelings or speak publically is a large gathering. Think about such scenarios that stress you out and practice your way out of them. If you do not express your thoughts, you would be left utterly stressed. You have to learn to express yourself. You can do so through various means, for example chatting with chums or teachers, writing, music and alike.

Do not indulge in negative thoughts- replace the negative self-talk about yourself by positive or neutral thoughts. "My life has become worse forever" can get replaced by "I am in the dumps right now, but things are not going to be the same forever if I seek help".

Accepting yourself the way you are is an example of the key rules to manage stress in puberty. Most kids be afflicted by an inferiority complicated and become the victims of stress. Getting over this complicated and self acceptance will help you deal with stress.
