Is There Finally Hope For the Uninsured? Health Care Reform
Well, judging by the views of the American public, the reason for the rush is growing more and more obvious. The current Congress wants to do as much as they possibly can to advance their agenda before what is likely to be, and expected to be, a massive overhaul in Congress in less than a year.
Now why would the slave owners of the south want them to count as a full person while the northern sates, that had already abolished slavery, want them to count as only three-fifths of a person? The answer is simple. The south wanted them to count as a full person so they could gain more seats in the house of representatives and guarantee slavery to go on forever.
So this is our political climate today. Populism once again being seduced by the right and the Republicans by telling people they will protect you as you lose your jobs, struggle to pay bills, wonder how you will pay your taxes, pay for Christmas, birthdays, kid programs, cellphone bills, gas, electric, food, health insurance, medicine, tuition, school fees, cars, travel programs, clothes, mortgage, and have anything left over at all for a future.
Now, the more interesting thing - why liberals should oppose any such legislation. Liberal pro-choicers are usually one of the segments of the population advocating for women's rights. And, sort of lumped in with that is the belief that women should not be sexually objectified or exploited. But, by this very notion, they themselves refer to abortion as a "choice" which defines abortion as an elective procedure. If we were to allow for elective procedures under new healthcare legislation, that would then put us in the position to allow for such things as breast enhancements, liposuction, vaginal rejuvenation and procedures of that nature. And as most liberals will argue, these procedures do indeed objectify and sexually exploit women.
But before you get in your car and head for that teabagger rally or hightail it to Michigan for Sarah's Roguenuciations or tune into the millionaire club of O'Reilly/Beck/Hannity...did it ever occur to you, that those people the Republicans and the far right scorn the Democrats for helping...is now the middle class. Did it ever occur to you, that we are the less fortunate?
