One Lesson Dream Interpretation
The next important truth about dreams is that no one and I mean no one can say "This is what your dream means" and be absolutely correct. Science does not know "Meanings of Dreams," like it knows "Gravity." We do have some good theories but nothing can be proven about them.
I am going to share with you two of my recent dreams to give you a good sense of how dreams are interpreted. But please keep in mind this is how I interpret them and I have been doing this for over 30 years. This is how my dreams work and how most of the people I interpret for works. There are different and good theories mine is mostly Gestalt based. And if you like you can Google that and get into it. But this is not necessary to learn how to interpret your dreams.
Let me give you a bit of a background first. I have been ignoring a financial situation that has been bothering me. I know if I don't handle it, it is going to get worse but I am not doing anything other than worrying and pushing the thoughts away when they come up. The two dreams explain this situation very nicely.
In the first dream I am trying to park a car on the street between two cars. It is a small space but I have the car in there and I am being very careful not to hit the car in front of me... I edge up stop before touching the car and I put the car in reverse and without paying much attention bump the car behind me and then come a bit forward again... I get out of the car and check the front... all is well there but when I check the back I notice that I have climbed over the hood of the car behind me... I say to my self. " I should have paid more attention."
In the other dream I am floating on my chest in a pool while holding my breath. I am slowly sinking to the bottom of the pool and as I am sinking I get a bit worried but I think to my self... once I get to the bottom I can just push off. Well... I get to the bottom and I try to push off and I cannot. I start to panic and wake up.
In both dreams I have concerns; in the car parking dream I am paying attention to the front of the car and not the back. The front of the car represents other parts of my life and the back of the car represents the financial situation I am worried about and not paying too much attention to. And the back of the car, in the dream, is ruined. In the case of the swimming pool, I am not starting to come up the moment I have a concern about "coming up to the surface," but rather I decide to wait until I hit the bottom. This is clearly what I am doing with my financial situation waiting until I hit bottom.
In both of these cases there is a situation I am ignoring and the end results in each case are not good. Also notice one other thing... I am the only one who can interpret this dream. If I shared the dream with someone and they did not know the situation of my life, they could not have interpreted these for me.
