Why People Get Depressed
The first main reason for depression is because of family history. Some psychologists and doctors speculate that depression is hereditary and can be passed on. It can run in families and be passed on from generation to generation. This is attributable when there are other factors present in the equation.
Another cause of depression is because of stress and trauma. A lot of people easily give in when they are having problems. Their problem could mainly stem from either stress or trauma which can lead them to a state of depression. Controlling their problems correctly can help in avoiding being under the state of depression. Hence, it will be better if you learn to balance whatever you do to prevent your being stressed. If possible, don't work or do things too much.
Another cause of depression may be attributed to pessimistic personality. This is basically a person who has low self-esteem and who always thinks negatively. Most people who feel depressed with these traits are those who cannot build social relationships. They only depend on themselves and could not rely on anybody.
Health and mental stability are some other causes of depression. People who are experiencing serious medical conditions as well as psychological disorders have the tendency to feel more depressed. Because of fear through these physical or psychological situations, they could not easily overcome it. Most people who feel depressed because of medical conditions are those who really need close monitoring and counseling.
These are the main reason why people get depressed. They obviously differ in many ways but the result leads to one thing. It is imperative, therefore, that we know the root cause of depression, and how it could possibly affect our well being.
