You can be a part of making sure that those workers who are hired to collect recycled materials remain employed as long as they have a route to pick up. If the route diminishes so does the job. This means whether you live in a home or an apartment there are options available to you. Many options make it very easy to jump aboard the green train and do your part to save the earth.

Home: Many sanitation offer bins to home owners who wish to recycle. Typically this is bottle, can and newspapers. It can be easy to do this and you put out the materials when you put out your regular trash container. They also have special days in some cities where they pick up yard waste that can help as well. You ask for a special sticker in some cities to place on a container that you purchase yourself.

Apartment: Many green conscious apartment complexes have containers that will be available near a trash receptacle that are specifically for recycled materials and waste management. This way you can separate certain items and dispose of them in these bins. Privately owned condos are beginning to work together to achieve this goal of recycling as well.

You can also collect materials in containers at your apartment on your own if they do not offer recycling yet. This way you can still do your part effectively. Many stores have nice looking bins to hold materials in until you fill them up. Then you can bring them to your sanitation department easily and even get some extra cash on hand while you do it.

Public schools are jumping on the bandwagon as well for recycling. More districts in cities are offering programs that encourage students to recycle and some even have recycling or green clubs. City streets are being made avenues for the process as well with containers being made available to passersby in major cities that value the importance of recycling and seeing positive effects of doing so.
